Alison Krauss并不是这首歌的原唱，但第一次听到她的版本便被她空灵的声音捕获了。
1994年，时年23岁的Alison Krauss携手长年合作的蓝草乐队Union Station（联合车站），翻唱Keith Whitley生前的作品《When You Say Nothing At All》向前辈致敬，一举打入乡村音乐排行榜前三名的位置，被无数人视为心目中的永恒经典。这首歌是知名电影《诺丁山》的插曲之一，同时也是爱尔兰知名男团组合Boyzone（男孩地带）主唱Ronan Keating（罗南.基汀）1999年的第一支单曲，曾荣耀登顶英国的单曲榜。
